WEALTH + WORK

FUTURES LAB

Designing for Dignity, Mobility, and Well-Being

Everyone has a right to develop, live, and
die well—but not everyone is given
that opportunity.

To address this, the Wealth and Work Futures Lab is uniting employers, policymakers, practitioners, and communities to build dynamic ecosystems that learn, act, and grow together in pursuit of well-being. Through research, collaboration, and practice, the Lab is working to transform how economic mobility is framed and fostered in Philadelphia and beyond.

Our work bridges human development, organizational culture, and change management, blending hands-on practice with collaborative design. Whether it's prioritizing holistic well-being, leveraging digital tools to create new career pathways, or addressing barriers to wealth generation in rural and metropolitan areas, we're shaping an economic future that puts people first.

OUR MISSION

To put humanity at the heart of economic policy and practice.

OUR VISION

An economy redesigned to generate thriving communities in both rural and metropolitan regions

Places where all people have opportunities to find meaningful pathways and lead fulfilling lives.

Places where everyone's full potential to contribute is unleashed, fueling successful organizations and enterprises.

Places that embrace a broad definition of wealth, encompassing a collective valuing of and investment in people's freedom, health, stability, peace, opportunity, and a sense of completeness.

WHO WE ARE

Innovators. Partners. Builders of Tomorrow.

The Wealth and Work Futures Lab is part of the humanature social impact portfolio.

We're a team of researchers, strategists, human-centered designers and community builders that are passionate about evolving how we center humanity in the future of work and wealth. Based at Drexel University's Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation, we create spaces where various voices and rapid learning fuel innovative solutions that build and expand ecosystems of opportunity.

CURRENT FOCUS

How might we identify the most influential and intersecting root causes behind stalled economic mobility in rural and metropolitan areas?

And with that insight, how might we design the most effective levers to advance economic mobility and holistic well-being?
